Many of the wood sculptures came about by putting found objects together, relying on instinct and trial and error, until the juxtapositions related in some pleasing way and seemed to suggest meaning. Different materials generate different imagery and content. The World’s Largest Watercolor, Deconstructed and Reconfigured was definitely a jab at the contemporary art world with its emphasis on art theory and its need for enormous scale. I love a little humor in a work of art.
